DeBary Hall To Host Lecture On Central Florida's Civil War Veterans

DeBary, FL-Following the Civil War, many Union and Confederate veterans packed

their belongings and headed to the Sunshine State to start over.

Bob Grenier, author of “Central Florida’s Civil War Veterans,”

will discuss the lives of these courageous men and their families at 2

p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd.

DeBary.

Grenier has written eight books on Central Florida history. He’s the

curator and exhibit designer for the Lake County Historical Museum and a

member of the Tavares City Council.

His discussion is part of DeBary Hall’s Lemonade Lecture series.

DeBary Hall Historic Site is listed on the National Register of

Historic Places. Tours of the 1871 hunting lodge are available from 10

a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Admission prices are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for children ages

3 to 12, and free for children 2 and younger.
