Children's Programs Return To The NSB Library

New Smyrna Beach, FL- Children can develop a lifelong love of reading with free programs at the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library, 1001 S. Dixie Freeway.

Preschoolers and their caregivers can take part in these programs:

* Storytime: 10 a.m. Tuesdays. Parents and caregivers share the excitement of reading and listening with their preschoolers. Books, music and a craft fill this half-hour of fun for children ages 2 to 5.

* Baby Time: 10 a.m. Wednesdays. This early-learning program for infants up to 2 years provides a gentle introduction to rhyme, clapping, stories and other babies.

* Listen Up: 10 a.m. Thursdays. Librarians share age-appropriate books and songs with children ages 2 to 5.

*Shake it Up: 10:30 a.m. Thursdays. Children ages 2 to 5 can take part in movement and activities set to music.

Programs for children in grades K-6 include:

*Lego Challenge: 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Children can use the library's Lego bricks to create projects following special instructions.

*Art Aces: 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Children complete guided art projects in a creative atmosphere.

Youth from birth to 17 will receive a sticker and a book or prize when they sign up for their first library card in September, which is Library Card Sign-up Month.
