17-Year-Old Boy Bitten By Shark While Surfing In NSB, Suffered Minor Injuries

New Smyrna Beach, FL – Update: According to Volusia County Beach Safety, a 17-year-old male was bitten by a shark at around 12 PM on Saturday.

The boy was surfing in waist-deep water near the inlet in New Smyrna Beach when he was bitten on the hand. The boy's parents brought him to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries to his right hand.
