Western Flagler County Road 305 Constuction To Begin Soon, Delays Expected

Flagler County, FL - Soon, drivers who travel County Road 305 in western Flagler County will encounter delays as roadwork begins.

On August 7, crews will begin to widen and resurface 2.7 miles of County Road 305 from the Haw Creek Bridge south of the S curve towards County Road 304. The roadway will be open, but there will be single lane closures.

“The planned work includes stabilized shoulders and drainage improvements in addition to widening and resurfacing,” says Faith Alkhatib, County Engineer.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) funded the $2.28 million project through the Small County Outreach Program (SCOP). The roadway engineering was done by DRMP, Inc. and Halifax Paving will complete the construction.

“Our staff does a great job finding grant money for these projects,” says Craig Coffey, County Administrator.

All 7 bridges along County Road 305 have been replaced. The road runs from State Road 100 to the Volusia COunty border. Before this project, the County replaces 3 box culverts to get ready to the widening of County Road 305 throughout Flagler. Excluding this $2.28 million project, over $20 million has been already spent on the roadwork projects.

“We are able to get a lot of big projects done without a financial impact to our residents,” says Coffey.
