Daytona Beach, FL - Tanger Outlets will celebrate the grand opening of its Daytona Beach location with a weekend long event that kicks off Friday.

The outlet mall, which features more than 75 national and regional retail stores and restaurants, opens at 9 AM on Friday, November 18th. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 10 AM. At noon there will be a meet and greet with Jonathan and Drew Scott of the Property Brothers.

On Saturday stores reopen at 9 PM. A holiday tree lighting ceremony will be held at 6 PM with live music performed by Jacob Whitesides. A fireworks display is scheduled for 9 PM.

The Tanger 'Family Festival' will run through Sunday and will include activities for the entire family.

According to James Miller, Communications Director for the Florida Retail Federation, the opening of this outlet mall isn't just good news for people who want more shopping options - it's good for everyone in the community. "Something of that size is ultimately going to impact other locations, other businesses, other retailers, other types of shops in the area," said Miller. "These outlet stores are going to need people to work there. So now you're talking about employment, you're talking about probably a couple hundred people I would imagine at least being employed. Well, they may need a place to live. So now you're talking homes and rentals and houses and things like that. So an outlet doesn't just touch that little area, it branches out really much further in the region. It's going to impact hundreds and thousands of people."

Tanger Outlets is off of I-95 at Exit 265 (LPGA Blvd), 1100 Cornerstone Blvd, in Daytona Beach.
