Volusia County, FL – Early voting is underway and Votran is partnering with the Volusia County Office of Elections to offer free rides to the polls for registered voters.

The ride is free to Votran riders who show a valid voter ID for early voting from 7 AM to 7 PM between Monday, October 24, and Saturday, November 5. The service will also be offered on the general election day – Tuesday, November 8.

“This service ensures that everyone has the same opportunity to vote, and we are pleased to be able to offer this service to Volusia County residents,” said Votran General Manager Steven Sherrer.

Not only is this being offered to those who ride Votran’s fixed routes, but also to residents registered for Votran’s Gold Service. Users of the Gold Service have to schedule their trip a day in advance and they must show a valid voter ID. Gold Service is available to those who can’t transport themselves and can’t use a fixed-route bus service.

“I am excited to continue this partnership with Votran,” said Lisa Lewis, Supervisor of Elections. “This is a wonderful example of county services working together.”
