Daytona Beach, FL - A citizens initiative restoring voting rights to some Floridians with felony convictions got on the 2018 General Election ballot and passed with nearly two-thirds of the vote, is in effect today. The Voting Restoration Amendment returns the vote to those that have completed their sentence, including parole or probation. It does not apply to felons convicted of murder or sexual crimes. The NAACP is helping those who want to register at an event late this afternoon at the John H. Dickerson Center in Daytona Beach. The event takes place in the Mickel Brown Activity Building from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. If you are uncertain of your eligibility, volunteers from the NAACP will be available to answer your questions
