Volusia County, FL- Volusia public school students begin the new school year today and school officials are hitting social media with a photo campaign on Twitter. Volusia County Schools Director of Community Information Nancy Wait said they'd like parents, students, faculty, staff and administrators to post photos of the first week of school using the hashtag #vcshello. Wait said when the week is over the photos will be combined into a story that will be posted on the Volusia County Schools website and Facebook so everyone can experience the beginning of the school year. Wait said that it's a good way to give people who haven't been in school a chance to see what it's like. The Twitter photo campaign comes in a year when students, for the first time, will be participating in a countywide uniform policy. The post on the official county school account says "We want to share the excitement of the first week of school with our community" and invites participation. The official Volusia Schools Twitter page is here.  The post by @volusiaschools is below.
