Daytona Beach, FL – The Volusia Mall announced on Wednesday that it would be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will open at 6 AM on Black Friday.
“We want to bring back the excitement of Black Friday shopping as the true start of the holiday shopping season and allow our employees, retailers, and shoppers to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with their families,” said Stephen Lebovitz, President and CEO, CBL & Associates Properties, Inc (the company that owns the mall). “After evaluating feedback from our mall employees, retail partners, and input from our shoppers we determined that this was the best decision for our properties.”
Department stores and retailers with entrances on the exterior of the mall have been given the option to open their stores for the holiday, but access to the mall’s common areas won’t be allowed until 6 AM on November 25.
