Volusia DCF Worker Arrested For Falsifying Possible Abuse Case Documents

Daytona Beach, FL – A former Volusia County Department of Children and Families (DCF) worker was arrested after she falsified several documents in a potential child abuse case. 31-year-old Doreece J. Hines of Daytona Beach has been under investigation since April 2017 after there were claims that she fabricated documents regarding a case where a child had bruises. Officials uncovered that Hines never talked to the parents or made a home visit even when she documented that she did. Records show Hines entered the information into her case notes and later tried to change it. Hines also failed to let police or the child protection team know about the case. Hines has since been fired from her job as a child protective investigator with DCF. She was charged with two counts of falsifying records and was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
