Volusia County To Collect Hazardous Waste In Ormond Beach And DeBary

Volusia County, FL - Volusia County's Solid Waste Division will host free collection events for household hazardous materials on April 28th and the 29th.
Acceptable materials include automobile and household batteries, old paint, solvents, pool chemicals, pesticides, motor oil, gasoline, up to ten fluorescent lamps, and other household chemicals. Insulin needles will be accepted in approved containers but the containers will not be returned. From 9 AM to 3 PM, these items can be dropped off at these locations:
  • Friday, April 28 at Ormond Beach Public Works, 501 N. Orchard St., Ormond Beach
  • Saturday, April 29 at DeBary City Hall, 16 Columbia Road, DeBary
Residents can also bring their household waste year-round for free disposal to the Tomoka Landfill in Port Orange or the West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand. The landfill is open Monday through Saturday from 7 AM to 5:30 PM. The transfer station is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM. Both facilities will provide free paint exchange programs and electronic waste on Saturday. For more information, call Volusia County's Solid Waste Division at 386-947-2952.
