Volusia County Schools' 2nd Annual Digifest To Be Hosted By Embry-Riddle

Daytona Beach, FL - Volusia County Schools' 2nd Annual Digifest for high school students is being hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's (ERAU) College of Arts and Sciences this Saturday.

From 8 AM to 4 PM, Saturday, March 25, over 250 students from Volusia County high schools will participate in Digifest, which will take place at various locations in ERAU's Collge of Arts and Sciences building. The event will include competitions, design challenges and educational seminars, including gaming, animation and multi-media design. ERAU staff and student volunteers will assist and help with judging.

Competitive events for the students include: Character, Story and Game Design and Personal Showcase Media Design projects. Same day challenges are Level Design, Sudden Death Logo Design and Photo Retouching.

Educational seminars for students include: Intellectual Property Law Rights, Infographic Design, Measuring the User Experience with Technology, Character Development & Story Design and Photography on a Budget.

Dr. Shawn Doherty, a gaming design expert and Human Factors professor at ERAU, will present the keynote address on "Gamification: Different Elements Utilized in Games to Enhance Play and Encourage Motivation."
