Vehicle & Train Collide In Ormond Beach, 1 Person Fatally Injured

Ormond Beach, FL - Update: The Ormond Beach Police Department has identified the person who died as Jerasen J. White, 38, Boca Raton, FL.

The investigation is continuing.

Earlier Reporting: An early morning accident involving a vehicle and a train in Ormond Beach left one person dead Saturday.

The Ormond Beach Police Department (OBPD) and the Florida East Coast (FEC) Railway Police are investigating a traffic fatality that occurred on the railroad tracks at Lincoln Ave. in Ormond Beach at 4:45 AM, Saturday, March 25.

According to the OBPD, a southbound FEC train struck a vehicle that was crossing the railroad tracks eastbound.

The driver of the vehicle, who died at the scene, is not being named pending notification of family.

Traffic was closed from 4:45 AM to 7:30 AM at Granada Blvd./FEC, Lincoln Ave./FEC and Wilmette Ave./FEC. Roadways are now open.

The investigation is continuing.
