Volusia County, FL- Daytona State College is partnering with VCSO to get the word out about free adult education at the school. Deputies will carry cards to hand out to people they think could benefit from higher education and, just maybe, change their future for the better.

Matthew Davids, the Chair of the School of Adult Education at DSC, says this partnership is an effort to reach more people and that VCSO deputies are a logical choice.

Davids said he printed 2000 index cards with the information on how to get free GED, Adult High School, Adult Basic Education and English for Speakers of Other Languages courses online and at DSC campuses across Volusia County. He doesn't expect all of the cards to be used but hopes they will make a difference.

Davids wants to let people know that the financial limitations have been removed so they can get that better education to hopefully improve their lives and the lives of their families. The classes are designed to prepare students for job advancement, new career paths or a continuing college education.

Adult education classrooms and offices are located at campuses in Daytona Beach, DeLand, Deltona, Orange City and New Smyrna Beach-Edgewater. You can get more information about the classes by following this link.
