DeLand, FL - Detectives are trying to find at least one woman and maybe two involved in a string of vehicle break-ins last month on the west side of Volusia County.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office released photos today (April 2nd) linked to those break-ins on March 13th at three locations in DeLand and another in Orange City.

The break-ins happened during the early evening hours at Valentine Park in Orange City and Earl Brown Park, Chipper Jones Baseball Park and the Moose Lodge in DeLand, according to VCSO spokesperson Laura Williams.

"At least one female suspect has been spotted at local banks trying to cash checks that were stolen from victims of the car breaks," Williams noted. "The vehicles burglarized were found to have a smashed window in which thieves reached in, grabbed a purse or wallet and quickly moved on to the next vehicle."

Some of the photos posted above came from a Space Coast Credit Union branch on Enterprise Road in Orange City a few days after the break-ins were reported.

"Two bank employees reported the woman pulled up to the drive-through lane," Williams noted. "She provided a Florida driver’s license, Space Coast Credit Union card and a check she attempted to cash. When the employees realized the ID's belonged to someone else, they called law enforcement."

The suspect became suspicious and fled the scene in the white Infiniti sport utility vehicle she drove up in, per Williams.

Other attempts have been made at TD Bank branches in Winter Park and Orlando, according to deputies. In those instances, the suspect drove a black Chevrolet Volt with a stolen Florida tag of Y82 RYQ.
