Volusia County, FL - Update: Gustavo Rivera, the suspect wanted in an August 17 armed Deltona carjacking is in custody after being caught Wednesday in Orlando by the U.S. Marshals Task Force and Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO).  He was booked into the Orange County Jail at 12:55 PM on VCSO’s charges of armed carjacking, carrying a concealed firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Earlier Reporting: The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is still looking for a suspect in an armed carjacking that happened in Deltona on August 17. The suspect, 36-year-old Gustavo Rivera, has a lengthy rap sheet and is wanted on charges of armed carjacking, carrying a concealed firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Officials say River may still have the stolen vehicle from Deltona, a burgundy 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 that originally had the Florida tag 741-QLS. However, detectives think that Rivera may have switched that tag with stolen Florida Highway Patrol tag 1602. They also say he may have switched tags again since then. Investigators think Rivera is still in Central FL, but they concede he may have left the area. Wherever he is, he should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who spots him or the stolen Dodge Ram should call 911, and anyone who wants to anonymously submit information on his location should call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 888-277-TIPS, or via westopcrime.com. Information leading to his arrest could be worth a cash reward. Earlier reporting can be found here.
