VCSO Arrests Suspect Who Robbed A Pierson Pharmacy In November

Posted
Pierson, FL – Update: The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) has arrested a man believed to be the culprit behind the November 17 Pierson Community Pharmacy robbery. On Sunday morning, 27-year-old Kendall A. Rockmore of DeLand was charged with several counts relating to the robbery. It is believed he was the one who robbed the pharmacy of $65,000 worth of pills. Rockmore is also accused of locking 3 employees into the trunks of two cars before the robbery. One of the employees was 8 months pregnant at the time. She told Rockmore that it was hard for her to get in the trunk and he replied that she had to listen to him otherwise he would kill her unborn child. The investigation also uncovered that the pharmacy had recently filled a prescription for Rockmore, a new patient, on November 2. Surveillance video from that day shows Rockmore walking the same way and wearing the same clothing and shoes he wore during the robbery. After watching the surveillance video, the owner of the pharmacy said: “I can’t believe that idiot wore the same thing.” On Wednesday, Rockmore was arrested by deputies for driving without a license and violating probation. A search warrant for his vehicle uncovered the same type of sunglasses that were worn by the robbery suspect. Surveillance video from a DeLand 7-Eleven, where Rockmore bought the sunglasses, shows him wearing the same clothes and shoes as he wore during the robbery. According to the VCSO, Rockmore was just released from prison in September following a 9-year sentence for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Rockmore now faces charges of robbery with a firearm, kidnapping, grand theft, trafficking Oxycodone, trafficking Hydromorphone, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond.
