Daytona Beach, FL – VCSO is investigating after a transient’s remains were found off of ISB near Daytona Beach.

A surveyor found the remains at the site on the north side of ISB, just east of the intersection with Red John Dr, and reported it to the Sheriff’s Office around 12:45 PM on Thursday.

Deputies and staff from the FWC searched the surrounding area that night and the next morning and found additional remains. The remains were sent to the University of North Texas, and they were able to ID the deceased as 59-year-old Daniel Carroll. His family has been notified.

VCSO says there were no obvious signs of foul play in his death.
