Volusia County, FL- Local law enforcement agencies reported that they received a large number of guns during the Kicks for Guns program today. Daytona Beach Police accepted 86 guns with two of them coming up as stolen. A 22-caliber handgun was taken in Holly Hill in 2013 and a 38 caliber handgun missing from Carthage, Missouri since 1990. VCSO accepted 60 guns in all, including two that were stolen. More than 600 unwanted firearms have been collected by VCSO since 2010. FCSO collected 80 guns with at least one determined to be stolen. Three short-barreled shotguns, which are prohibited in the U.S., were also turned in. An unusual weapon, a Japanese war rifle came in. Organizers said it was most likely a war trophy.
