Deltona, FL – A 21-year-old man should pull through after he was grazed on his face by a bullet.

That’s the word from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office about an incident around 8 o’clock Sunday night in the 1500 block of April Avenue in Deltona. That’s in the Kensington Estates area southeast of Lyonia Preserve.

VCSO spokesman Andrew Gant says the victim was transported by ambulance to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford for treatment of a wound to one of his cheeks after a bullet grazed it.

“There were several conflicting accounts given of the incident,” Gant added. “It appears that a drug-related transaction was underway when an altercation occurred and shots were fired.”

The man’s condition is listed as non-life-threatening.

No other information has been released at this time by VCSO.
