Suspect In 2 Deltona Armed Robberies In Custody After Confessing

Deltona, FL - Update: The Volusia County Sheriff's Office has arrested and charged a man they say is responsible for 2 recent armed robberies in the Deltona area.

Detectives used surveillance images to identify and track down Anthony J. Wiley, 22, of Deltona, who has been charged with 2 counts of robbery with a weapon.

A deputy spotted the suspect vehicle, a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero, on Tuesday parked at 1316 Buccaneer Ave in Deltona. The deputy ran the tag and found out it belonged to Wiley. Wiley was interviewed and confessed to the 2 crimes.

On Monday, Wiley allegedly tried to rob a woman at knifepoint in the parking lot of the Travel Lodge Hotel, but when she screamed he ran away.

Wiley's also accused of trying to rob someone outside of Monster Pizza.

Wiley was brought to the Volusia County Jail.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) needs help figuring out the identity of a suspect who robbed a man outside of a Deltona pizza restaurant.

A man claims that on April 5 at 8:30 PM the suspect came up to him demanding money outside of Monster Pizza, 1200 Deltona Blvd. The suspect acted as if he had a gun.

The man said he saw the suspect leave in a white Pontiac Grand Am being driven by a woman. The car is believed to be a mid-1990s to early 2000s model.
