DeLand Man Who Allegedly Abused 3-Year-Old, Put Her In Oven, Turns Himself In

DeLand, FL – Update: Wanted child abuser Terry May, who allegedly put a 3-year-old girl into an oven, has turned himself in. He’s being held at the Volusia County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for the DeLand man who allegedly abused a 3-year-old girl and put her in an oven.

Detectives are looking for Terry L. May, 45, of Lenox Court. The child abuse charge against him carries a $50,000 bond.

On Thursday, the 3-year-old victim told deputies and an investigator from the state Department of Children and Families that May frequently hit her with a belt. She had several visible injuries including a burn injury on her ear, bruises on the top of her head and forehead, a 6-inch scar on her back, as well as bruises and deep cuts on her feet, hands, and leg. After a medical exam, the victim told the investigator from the DCF that May had put her in an oven.
