Volusia County, FL – A Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) deputy has been arrested for a domestic battery incident involving his son.
At around 6:10 PM on Saturday, VCSO deputies responded to 50-year-old Sgt. Robert Rahn’s DeLand home after receiving reports of a domestic incident. Rahn’s 16-year-old son told deputies that during a verbal argument, his father pushed him on the couch, punched him in the face, put him in a headlock, and put his hand on his nose and mouth until he lost consciousness.
Rahn was arrested and taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail. He is being charged with domestic battery by strangulation and child abuse without great harm. Rahn is now on paid administrative leave.
