Deltona, FL - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is searching for whoever shot a man in the head during a robbery attempt at his home.
Deputies were called to the scene just after 6 p.m. last night (September 29th) at a property on the 1100 block of Mayflower Avenue in Deltona.
VCSO spokesperson Laura Williams says the man is in critical condition.
"The 38-year-old victim told deputies he was shot while he was in the garage area," Williams added. "He was airlifted by sheriff’s helicopter with a gunshot wound to his head to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford."
Detectives believe this was not a random attack.
No arrests have been made at this time.
VCSO hasn't identified the victim.
