VCSO Arrests Deltona Middle School Student For Making A Bomb Threat

Posted

Deltona, FL - The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) has charged another Volusia County student after they made a threat against the school.

At around 11:41 AM on Wednesday, Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 14-year-old Deltona Middle School student after his third period teacher reported the student has threatened to blow up the school. This is one of several recent threats of violence made towards Volusia County schools following the deadly mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL.

According to the VCSO, the student did not have any real intent to blow up the school. The student now faces felony charges of making a false report of a bomb

All law enforcement agencies, including the VCSO, take threats of violence seriously. Students and the rest of the public are warned that there is a zero-tolerance policy for these types of jokes.
