Orange City, FL - VCSO is investigating after University High School was placed on lock-down twice after someone called and threatened violence against the Orange City school.

The initial threat was made around 12:50 PM on Monday. Safety protocols were followed and the school was placed on lock-down. Students were kept in their classrooms as deputies investigated.

Nothing suspicious was found during the search, so the lock-down was lifted, but the suspect called the school again and University HS was put back into lock-down.

VCSO is working to ID the caller.

VCSO wants people to know that reports of an armed man being seen near the school campus are not true. Reports of an arrest being made are also untrue.

Once deputies determined that the threat was not credible, the school dismissed students. That was at 2:55 PM.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Orange City Police Department is assisting.
