Volusia County, FL - In the Volusia County Council's meeting on Thursday, council members said they were satisfied with the progress at One Daytona and agreed to issue the developers $8 million for infrastructure costs - the last of the $20 million that was promised a year ago.

The final $8,000,000 grant was needed to finish a parking garage for One Daytona, a project across the street from Daytona International Speedway. The project promises a 300,000 square foot dining, shopping and entertainment complex, as well as apartments and several hotels.

Volusia County and One Daytona staff had an agreement that if construction was on time at this point in the project the last payment from the $20 million bill would be approved. In February, an engineer for the county confirmed that One Daytona's progress is on schedule according to the deal made in their contract.

Members of the One Daytona Community Development District (CDD) were at the meeting to answer questions and concerns about the project.
