Varn Park Now Open After 2-Month Restoration Project

Posted

Flagler Beach, FL – After being closed for 2 months due to dune restoration, Varn Park in Flagler Beach has reopened.

Despite opening Wednesday and being mostly completed, the area is still under a permit from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) until May 1. The DEP gave the Hammock Dunes Owners Association the permit to help with the dune restoration.

“We know this has been an inconvenience for those who enjoy this park. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding and are happy to reopen it,” says Craig Coffey, Flagler County Administrator. “Additional projects are expected in the near future and that will likely require additional temporary beach closures in other areas from time to time.”

More information on Varn Park and other closures will be released as it becomes available.
