Miami Woman Dies Following SR 40 Crash

UPDATE (03-09-19) - The person who died in a motor vehicle accident yesterday is identified as 24-year-old Sarah Ellen Ross of Miami.

According to the incident report, Ross was a backseat passenger in a car that had the right-of-way to make a left turn from westbound Granada Boulevard southbound on to I-95.  Her car was T-boned by a car running a red light in the EB lanes of Granada Blvd. The vehicle Ross was in was then rear-ended by a third vehicle.

Ross suffered severe injuries and was transported as a trauma alert to Halifax Hospital. She passed away from her injuries a short time after arriving at the hospital. The driver of the car Ross was in received minor injuries. The front seat passenger was given CPR by a good Samaritan and was revived at the scene. She suffered serious injuries and is reported in stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the one that Ross was in suffered incapacitating injuries, but is expected to be OK. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with neck and back pain. He was treated and released.

Ormond Beach, FL - At least two people are in a local hospital after a violent traffic accident closed down West Granada Blvd near I-95 this afternoon.

Ormond Beach Police Public Information Officer Keith Walker said police officers, firefighters and paramedics from Ormond Beach responded to the accident involving three vehicles about 12:18 p.m.

The vehicles involved in the crash are a silver Buick Lacrosse, a black Honda civic and a white Ford van. Walker said occupants from several vehicles were transported to the hospital, with two patients going as trauma alerts.

Walker said the investigation is ongoing and that more information will be released as it becomes available.
