'United Against Hate' Rally Set For Daytona Beach In Response To Charlottesville

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - A "United Against Hate" rally will be held in downtown Daytona Beach on Friday night as part of a national response to last weekend's events in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Daytona Beach event is being hosted by the Fun Coast Progressive Democratic Caucus, the Democratic Club of Northeast Volusia County, and Indivisible Volusia. Organizers say the rally will start at the corner of International Speedway Blvd. and Beach St., and the event will run from 7 to 8 PM.

The Details section on the event's Facebook page says the following:

"We call upon every American to join us–to stand together on the right side of history, to use the power of our voice to stand with our neighbors and friends against all forms of hate and violence in this country.

We call upon our President to denounce the actions of these Nazis and white supremacists in Charlottesville. His statement was not a CLEAR denunciation of them and their hatred.

We are united against hate

We are united against violence.

We are united against sexism.

We are united against racism.

We are united against xenophobia.

We are united against homophobia.

We are united against fascism.

We are united against antisemitism."
