Two Men Sought For Questioning In DeLand Shooting

DeLand, FL - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office wants your help to find two people who deputies believe were involved in an overnight incident where shots were fired in southwest DeLand.

VCSO responded to the scene at 611 Margaret Street around 3:40 a.m. today (November 25th). That's just west of South Spring Garden Avenue/State Road 15 and south of West Euclid Avenue.

Agency spokesperson Andrew Gant says it appears the shots were fired after some sort of argument, but what that argument was about isn't clear at this point.

"The shooting victim, identified as 44-year-old Carlos Manzanares (left) of DeLand, was no longer there when deputies arrived," Gant added. "Another person of interest in the investigation is 45-year-old Reinaldo Martinez Jr. (right), who has not been located or interviewed at this time."

VCSO thinks Martinez Jr. could be somewhere in the New Smyrna Beach area.

Gant says one person of interest has been interviewed by detectives so far, but they would like to talk to Manzanares and Martinez Jr. before closing the case.

"Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Manzanares or Martinez Jr. is asked to call 911," Gant noted.

No other information has been released at this time by VCSO.
