95 Construction Zone Crash Kills Two In Daytona Beach

Volusia County, FL-Update: FHP identifies two men killed in an accident on 95 SB in Daytona Beach last night as 56-year-old Alfred Weaver of Titusville and 57-year-old Clay Suber of Trenton, FL. Weaver was the driver of the box truck troopers say went onto the shoulder of the roadway and hit a pickup truck in the construction zone. Suber was the driver of that parked pickup. 19-year-old Patrick Tucker of Astor, FL., was the pickup truck passenger hurt in the accident. Earlier reporting follows: Two men are dead after a crash in a marked construction area in the southbound lanes of I-95 near MM 261.  Florida Highway Patrol reports that the accident happened at 6:30 P.M. A 56-year-old Titusville man was traveling southbound on I-95 in the outside lane.  A pickup truck carrying road construction workers was stopped facing eastbound on the right paved shoulder. Investigators say that the southbound box truck traveled onto the paved shoulder, crashing into the left side of the pickup truck, which was driven by a 57-year-old man from Trenton, FL.
