TV Show Highlights Local Cold Case

  Bunnell, FL - A popular television show that features cold cases highlights the case involving a Flagler County man who disappeared back in 2015. The popular Oxygen television show "Cold Justice" aired an episode last night (September 15th) that featured the 2015 disappearance of Bunnell resident, 58-year-old George Contos. Contos was originally reported missing in May of 2015 after a report was filed by his family with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. Reports say circumstances revolving around his disappearance indicated foul play may have been involved and a three-year investigation was started. Sometime during the course of the investigation, FCSO began to work in conjunction with "Cold Justice" In their latest episode, they updated the case and revealed some details about the investigation to the public.   “The airing of Cold Justice episode has given our investigators another chance to get tips from the public," says Sheriff Rick Staly. “Our detectives have done an outstanding job investigating this case. Help us give George Contos and his family justice. We will not rest until that happens.” The case is still under investigation as a homicide as FCSO works with the State Attorney's Office. “This has been a long investigation and a lot of hard work went into this case. We have been able to identify two suspects but as of now, there are still no arrests." said lead Detective Jorge “Gabe” Fuentes.
