Daytona Beach, FL - Travelers using Daytona Beach International Airport may soon have an easier time getting through the security line.

DBIA is working with the Transportation Security Administration to have a permanent TSA Pre-Check enrollment center in place by the end of April. If it happens, DBIA would become the 5th airport in the state to have one after Orlando, Tampa, Miami and Palm Beach.

DBIA is working on a marketing plan with TSA right now and officials are hoping to have the Pre-Check enrollment center ready to go within a month once that plan is approved by TSA headquarters.

DBIA had a mobile TSA pre-check event in December that was "a huge success," according to Jay Cassens, Director of Business Development at DBIA. According to Cassens, nearly 1,300 people were enrolled locally during the 2-week mobile enrollment event and he attributes that success to the amount of attention being given to the potential full-time enrollment center.

If DBIA does manage to get the enrollment center, Cassens thinks it will drive more traffic to the airport and make it more convenient for Daytona Beach area travelers even if they don't use DBIA.

If the enrollment center does arrive, Cassens said it would be located in the baggage claim area and TSA would have their own office.
