Volusia County, FL-Update: The National Weather Service in Melbourne has canceled Tropical Storm Warnings for east central Florida this morning. TS Colin is exiting FL this morning, soaking the SE states, and Volusia County is still getting trailing bands of wind and rain from the system. Damage here is minimal and mostly downed trees and toppled power lines. FPL reporting a handful of scattered power outages this morning. A Flood Watch in Coastal Volusia County remains in effect until 8PM. Earlier reporting follows: Officials are continuing to monitor the path of Tropical Storm Colin this evening and both Volusia and Flagler counties remain under a tropical storm warning.  The National Weather Service said the area should see periods of locally heavy rain (up to two to three inches) and strong wind gusts in squalls, with some gusts possibly reaching 45 mph. Because the storm is moving quickly, winds should begin to decrease after midnight and drop off substantially after 6 a.m. The risk for isolated tornadoes remains across the area through the overnight hours. Officials say that due to the projected tropical storm force winds and significant rain, residents who do not need to be on the roads are encouraged to stay home. If you do have to go out, use caution as there could be standing water on some roads and some localized flooding. Emergency Management officials encourage residents to continue to monitor Tropical Storm Colin carefully. Complete storm information is available by clicking here.
