Deltona, FL - Another post Matthew tragedy here as a tree trimmer was killed on Friday morning after being electrocuted by a live power line.

The 52-year-old man was hired by a resident on Leeward Dr in Deltona to do some tree work. He was up in a lift in the backyard trimming limbs on a large pine tree with a pole saw when he was heard screaming. Residents saw he was slumped over and unconscious in the lift so they called up to him and banged on the lift but didn't get a response.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived on scene at 11:04 AM and the lift was lowered. First responders then saw that he had been electrocuted. FPL shut down the power grid briefly while the victim was taken out of the lift. He was then transported via ambulance to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford where he was pronounced dead at 11:59 AM.

VCSO is investigating.
