Daytona Beach, FL - An Illinois man is facing multiple felony charges of aggravated battery after using his vehicle as a battering ram.

Daytona Beach Police arrested 58-year-old Michael Rosenthal on Friday afternoon after being dispatched to an incident on ISB at Beach Street last Friday afternoon.

Officers arrived on scene to find Rosenthal ramming a different vehicle from the one they were originally called on. He took off but complied with officers when he was pulled over.

The first vehicle hit by Rosenthal was westbound on ISB at the Beach St. intersection. That driver reported that his vehicle was rear-ended by the Jeep driven by Rosenthal. The driver proceeded through the intersection as Rosenthal continued to ram him. That driver pulled over and told officers that Rosenthal got out of his vehicle and yell, "I'm going to kill you!" Passengers in the vehicle said they were in fear for their lives.

Officers found that Rosenthal had rammed at least three other vehicles. Victims were checked out medically. No injuries were reported.

Rosenthal was taken to the Volusia County Jail. At this time, he is no longer in custody.
