Daytona Beach, FL-Daytona Beach tourism officials are stoked about a 4th of July travel forecast from AAA that predicts record-shattering numbers in Florida and nationwide. Interim Daytona Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Lori Campbell Baker says Daytona Beach is a market that sees 70% of visitors drive here. She thinks the AAA forecast means big numbers for the long holiday weekend ahead here. Campbell Baker also points to a year from now when the Shriners will hold the first of two conventions here. The 2017 event will be the biggest convention ever in Daytona Beach. The Shriners will also hold the group's 2018 convention here. For this July 4th, Campbell Baker says hotel and motel bookings are strong but says there are still rooms available and points to the "availability" tool on the CVB's website here. Campbell Baker was recently chosen from a list of finalists to be the next CVB executive director. She was a guest on Daytona's Morning News on WNDB. 2016 Southern Stone Communications Copyright
