Tobacco Free Volusia County Partnership To Discuss Employer Tobacco Policies

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - The Tobacco Free Volusia County Partnership will meet to discuss employer tobacco policies and a nationwide effort to raise the legal age for purchasing tobacco products to 21.

The meeting will take place on Monday, August 28 at 4 PM at the Department of Health at 1845 Holsonback Dr. Room 516 C in Daytona Beach. The Tobacco Free Volusia County Partnership works to help employers transition toward tobacco-free worksites and workforces.

Each year, employers lose thousands of dollars due to employee tobacco use, and the Partnership assists at no cost in setting a timeline and hosting free smoking cessation classes on-site.

The Partnership is a county-wide, locally organized group committed to saving lives and improving the overall health and well-being of residents and visitors by reducing the use of tobacco products. The Partnership is organized to advocate on the local, state, and national level for prevention of the initiation of tobacco use among youth, protection from secondhand smoke, and promoting quitting tobacco.
