3-Vehicle Crash In DeLand Leaves 5 Injured

DeLand, FL - Five people have sustained injuries as a result of a crash involving three vehicles on Woodland Boulevard in DeLand.

DeLand police and fire rescue responded to the crash scene at 2235 S. Woodland Boulevard just after 1 p.m. on Monday. Authorities say the three vehicles collided a half-mile north of the intersection of Woodland and Orange Camp Road.

Each vehicle sustained heavy damage. One person was treated at the scene and released while four others were hospitalized. Of those hospitalized, one person was in serious condition while the other three were in stable condition.

According to Chris Graham, Community Information Specialist with the City of DeLand, 10 units from the DeLand Fire Department and Volusia County Fire Rescue responded. A total of 17 firefighters worked on the accident for approximately 30 minutes before the patients were transported to the hospital. The Florida Highway Patrol also provided assistance at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
