The Florida Boat Show Kicks Off Festivities In Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach, FL - Boating enthusiasts are invited to come out to The Florida Boat Show this weekend in Daytona Beach to enjoy all things boating.

"It's a festival built around boating and recreational life on the water, basically. So there's vendors, there's food, there's music, there's a kids zone - there's all kinds of fun stuff here. There's seminars to learn different things - so it's a giant boating festival," said Florida Boat Show producer, Jimmy Hill.

The three-day event begins on Friday, May 18, at 12 PM at the Halifax Harbor Marina (450 Basin St.). The first day of activities will conclude at 7 PM, however, the festival continues on Saturday from 10 AM to 7 PM and on Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. Tickets, which are $10 for adults and free for kids, will be available at the gate.

"It's very affordable. There's no charge for parking. Its $10 dollars for adults and children 16 and under are free. So, we want the teenagers to not have an excuse not to come out and get involved in boating," said Hill."

The boating festival features hundreds of new boats on display and available for purchase. For example, attendees can expect to see power boats, sailboats, yachts, kayaks, and marine accessories.

"The weather guys are saying that the weather is going to be spotty, but it looks like we're going to get some sunshine during the day on Saturday. It's looking like we're going to pull it off and have a great weekend," said Hill.
