Volusia County, FL-The Volusia Teachers Organization is vowing to file an Unfair Labor Practice complaint against the school board over the recent impasse process. The VTO, in an email to media, said it has sent a letter to the Volusia County School Board to that effect.
The letter says the union believes the school board "failed to complete the impasse process". VTO says the school board, by submitting multiple options directly to the teachers, simply continued the bargaining process.
The first option from VCSB was a 2-year deal with a 4 percent pay increase. That option included changes to teachers’ insurance plans. The second option would leave the insurance plans as they and would only include a 2 percent pay increase.
