Daytona Beach, FL - Tanger Outlets opens today in Daytona Beach, and it's expected to have a big impact on the local economy.

The construction of the outlet mall alone created 400 jobs, and the mall itself is expected to generate about 900 full and part time jobs. But the economic effects of that mall extend beyond its own walls. "I think with the opening of the outlet mall it has the opportunity to attract new shoppers into the area," said Nancy Keefer, President and CEO of the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce. "They're very well known for attracting day trippers from outlying communities. So those are new dollars that will be spent not only at the outlet mall, but as they see all the other amenities in our community it's going to move people really throughout Volusia County as a whole."

Tanger Outlets is celebrating the grand opening of its new Daytona Beach location all weekend. The 3-day celebration kicks off on Friday morning, November 18, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 AM. The mall opens at 9.

Tanger Outlets, 1100 Cornerstone Blvd, is just off of I-95 at the LPGA exit (Exit 265).

The outlet malls hours through December 23 are 9 AM to 9 PM Monday through Saturday and 10 AM to 7 PM on Sundays.
