DBIA Officials Say Pack Your Patience For Memorial Day

Daytona Beach, FL-If you're traveling for the Memorial Day weekend, expect to see a lot of people at the airport. Friday is the fourth busiest day of the year for air travel. Director of Business Development at Daytona Beach International Airport Jay Cassens said travelers should plan for everything to take longer than usual.

The Country 500 three-day concert is taking place at the Speedway this weekend and Cassens said that could cause delays getting to the airport and with the extra people traveling, lines will likely move slowly at security checkpoints and at check-in.

Cassens said that at this time, it doesn't appear that travelers should have any issues with getting in and out of the airport or parking. There are no planned closures in connection with the event at the Speedway.

The best advice is to give yourself as much extra time as you can and bring your patience with you.
