Daytona Beach, FL-A St. Johns County murder suspect and his wife were found dead early today in a motel room in Daytona Beach.  Joseph Reddock Jr. and his wife Samantha were found dead at the Regency Inn. Daytona Beach Police were at the motel early this morning to serve drug warrants at room 164.  A deputy running tags on vehicles in the parking lot got a hit on a tag with a felony hold from St. Johns County. Police were looking for 41-year-old Joseph Reddock, Jr., who was suspected of beating his 70-year-old father to death. Reddock Jr. had threatened suicide by cop. His wife, Samantha, found dead with him, was a person of interest in the crime. SWAT was requested, followed by a request for the Bomb Squad robot.  The robot breached the door and police used the robot to communicate with those inside.  Officers observed the bodies of Reddock, Jr. and his wife, deceased in the room. Police say a rifle and other weapons were inside room 165. DBP Deputy Chief Craig Capri says he believes the suspect intended to have a shootout with police. Police say no shots were fired by any law enforcement officers. St. Johns authorities considered Reddock, Jr. armed and dangerous. The father may have been dead since Sunday according to the medical examiner. More details on the murder from ActionNewsJax here.
