Ormond Beach, FL - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office says a 32-year-old homeless man was arrested on Thursday and charged in Tuesday's armed robbery of King Restaurant in Ormond Beach. Sheriff's detectives have been looking for a suspect vehicle caught on surveillance video during the robbery since Tuesday. On Thursday, a Volusia County Sheriff's deputy spotted what looked like the vehicle used in Tuesday's robbery - a 2002 silver Mitsubishi 4-door with arear spoiler. Deputy Jim Greene also saw the registered owner of the car, Dwayne Maynard, 32, at the Econo Lodge on US-1 in Ormond Beach. Maynard was arrested without incident and interviewed at VCSO's Ormond Beach district office. He's linked to at least three armed robberies in Central Florida - two pharmacy robberies in Brevard County and Tuesday's robbery in Ormond Beach. Officials say additional charges against Maynard are expected. Detectives executed search warrants of Maynard's car and hotel room late Thursday night, where they found several pieces of evidence, including 122 prescription narcotic tablets. In connection with the Ormond Beach robbery, Maynard has been charged with robbery with a firearm, use of a firearm or deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and grand theft. All three of those charges are felonies. He's also been charged with violation of parole for another burglary case. Maynard's being held at the Volusia County Jail without bond.
