Deltona, FL - A suspect has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and armed carjacking in a shooting that left a Deltona man injured. Peter Neville Bamfield, 19, was arrested in Darlington, SC, on Wednesday night following a joint operation between the Volusia County Sheriff's Office and members of the US Marshals Task Force in Central FL and in South Carolina. The shooting happened on February 10 on the 2300 block of Dumas Dr. in Deltona. Multiple witnesses said they heard gunshots and saw a dark Honda passenger car speed away from the scene. After he was shot, the victim, 28-year-old Tarell Williams of Deltona, ran to get help. Responding deputies found him lying on a driveway with a neighborhood resident trying to help him. Deputies were able to identify the stolen vehicle and later found it abandoned in Deltona. Investigators didn't have a suspect name to work with, but Bamfield was named a suspect through descriptions and witness interviews. Bamfield is being held at the Darlington County Jail pending extradition to Volusia County, where he's facing charges.
