DeLand, FL – Motorists are warned that the SunRail railroad crossing in West DeLand will be closed Friday evening through Monday morning.

The Florida Department of Transportation is repairing the railroad crossing and the surrounding roadway at Old New York Ave. Starting at 6 PM on Friday, October 20, Old New York Ave. will be closed near the Amtrak station until construction ends and it reopens at 5 AM on Monday, October 23.

The Amtrak station and nearby local businesses will still be accessible, especially to Biketoberfest visitors. In order to access these businesses, motorists will have to come in on the east side of the railroad tracks.

Detour signage will be posted, and drivers should be aware that they will not be able to cross over the tracks until the construction ends on Monday. If you plan on driving in the area, you are asked to be cautious and careful.
