Student Finds Handgun In Bathroom At United Brethren In Christ School

Holly Hill, FL - A student at the United Brethren in Christ school found a handgun in the bathroom and immediately reported it to a staff member.

According to the Holly Hill Police Department (HHPD), the HHPD responded to the United Brethren in Christ church, 560 Flomich Street, Holly Hill, Wednesday, May 3, 8:17 AM, in reference to a handgun that was discovered in the bathroom by a student. Upon seeing the gun, the student backed out of the bathroom and alerted a staff member right away.

The gun was secured and turned over to the HHPD. It was determined that the handgun was accidentally left in the restroom by Charles Mills, 72, a volunteer member of the school staff who provides security at the school.

The HHPD says that a complaint affidavit has been filed charging Mills with carrying a concealed firearm on the school campus. The gun was submitted into evidence.
