Daytona Beach, FL - The world's only flying B-29 Superfortress will be landing in Daytona Beach so that residents can get their hands on a piece of history.

The 5-day event begins on Wednesday, March 30 when the Commemorative Air Force's (CAF) AirPower History Tour lands at DBIA. You can expect to see the iconic B-29 Superfortress, B-17 Flying Fortress, P-51 Mustang, C-45 Expeditor, T-6 Texan, PT-13 Stearman, and a T-34 Mentor. According to Kim Pardon, CAF's Public Information Officer, "visitors can see the airplanes up close, they can tour the cockpits of the B-17 and the B-29, and then also purchase rides on all the airplanes that attend."

The Boeing B-29 Superfortress was first flown in 1942 and began active service in 1944. It's best known for its missions over Japan during WWII. It was also used in the Korean War in the early 50s and remained active in the U.S. Air Force until the late 50s.

The aircraft will be on display at Sheltair Aviation, 563 Pearl Harbor Drive, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 11 to 17, and free for kids 10 and under. Ride prices range from $75 to  as high as $1895. To book a ride ahead of time, go to www.AirPowerTour.org, where you can also find additional information about the tour.

Aircraft will be on display on Wednesday, March 30 from noon to 5 PM. They will be on display from 9 AM to 5 PM on Thursday, March 31 through Sunday, April 3.
